3" x 3" square gold tone unused enamelled army theme compact from the 1940s! The top only has bright blue enamel with the US Army eagle in gold coloring with red, white and blue accent colors. It also says E. Pluribus Unum (Latin, which translates to mean "one out of many") in white enamel as part of the insignia. No flakes, chips or crazing to the enamel! The enamel has great detail and covers the entire front of the compact. The back is gold tone and shows very little surface wear. It opens and closes tightly and correctly. The inside has the clear mirror on one side and the opposite side has a rectangle lift up section for rouge, unused with puff. It also has the lift up section for powder, with puff. |

2-1/2" square gold tone Hudnut compact. It has a bright bright red enamel on both sides. The front has a white enamel border with white enamel and gold decoration in the center. The back is all red enamel. No damage to the red enamel. The inside has a mirror on one side and the opposite side has the powder section and rouge, still there, with signed puffs. It has the fitted cardboard and silk box. The same logo on the compact is on the top of the box and it has the Hudnut name on the inside lid box. Great 1930s Hudnut compact. |

A 2-1/2" round gold tone double opening unused compact. It's 3/4" thick. The top has a nice etched design and scroll designs, also room for a monogram in the center. The back has the same design without the monogram area. The top opens to reveal a mirror on one side and the opposite side has the rouge, unused with puff. It's marked DuBarry and Richard Hudnut on the inside. The other side opens to reveal the powder cake, still there, with puff and another mirror. The gold tone is very shiny, no scratches. It has the original dark brown box, measuring 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" x 1-1/8." The inside has yellow silk with the Hudnut name and a velvet fitted area for the compact to sit. The box shows very little wear. This compact was featured in a 1922 advertisement. I wonder where it's been all these years, sitting, never used! |
